Intuitive page management
The page management features mean an unlimited number of pages can be created and organised easily into a hierachical structure. Urls are managed automatically by the system and are generated for optimum search engine visibility. Breadcrumb trails are also created on the fly.
The page manager also features one-click security which means a page can instantly be made visible to any individual user or group of users, but hidden from the public. This is great for pages that require a user to login first (things like client areas or premium content).
The system also features enterprise grade page caching (built on top of the php Smarty library) to minimise the server load. This means high traffic websites can be hosted on a relatively low cost server.
Powerful editing
Acms is template based and allows a user to simply select from a list of installed templates and then begin editing content for that page immediately.
Various types of editable content can be specified in a template including text, HTML, Images, Flash, and Video. These content types can easily be extended using the Acms module architecture. The interface is very intuitive and is usable without the need for extensive training. A few quick pointers usually does the trick.
Full revision history
A major advantage of Acms is that it features full version history for all pages featured on the system. At the click of a button the administrator can quickly see all the changes made to a page and choose to publish individual versions as required. The ability to preview changes before publishing is also provided out the box.
Integrated user management
Acms allows users to be created, edited and removed from the system. Accounts can be activated/deactivated at the touch of a button and users can be added and removed from groups with a single click. These groups can then be used to secure pages using the page management features mentioned above.
Expandable architecture
From the offset Acms was created using a pluggable architecture meaning that we can extend it's functionality easily when required. Modules currently included Property management and a Stock photography library.
